George Bozis – Soula Bozi: "From Paris to Peran – Greek Cinematographers of Istanbul".
The presentation of George Soula Bozi’s book “From Paris to Peran – Greek Cinematographers in Istanbul” took place in the Movie Library of Greece on Monday, 12/12/2011. The presentation was organised by the Topos publications. The book was presented by the director, Pantelis Voulgaris, the General Secretary of the Movie Library and Assistant Tutor of the University of Athens, Maria Komninou, and the journalist and film critic, Jason Triantafillidis. The presentation was coordinated by Stelios Elliniadis. The book is a product of an exceptional 15 year long research by two writers that have been among the creators of the Turkish cinema. We remind you that George Bozis (1939-2006) was one of the founders of the Movie Library in Istanbul in 1965, editor and columnist in film magazines and director of political documentaries. Soula Bozi worked from 1972 to 1980 as a costume designer in theatre and cinema. The book, brightened with rare photographic material, is invaluable, given the scant literature on this subject. The special reference to an amateur film maker, Evaggelos Aggelidis, to whom we hope to return at some point with more information, was for us a positive surprise. .
